Tortilla Chips
TORTILLA CHIPS
15 corn tortillas
seasoning salt
Preheat a deep fryer to 350ºF. While the fryer is preheating, use a large knife to cut each tortilla into six equal triangles. Place paper towels onto a large plate, and into a large serving bowl.
Once oil is heated, lift basket out of oil. Place about 8-10 tortilla triangles into basket and carefully lower the basket into the oil. Cook for about 30-45 seconds on one side (until golden brown). Using tongs, turn tortilla triangles onto other side and cook for the same amount of time or until chips are golden brown.
Empty basket of chips onto the paper toweled plate. Quickly season with salt while oil is still visible. Let cool. Then empty plate into serving bowl. Repeat until all the chips are cooked.
